What path led you to start working at the OCC?
During law school, I spent the summer as an intern working for the Department of Justice, and it was then that I became interested in public service and public policy. When I was looking for a job to start after my judicial clerkship, I sought legal jobs in public service that fit well with my academic background in economics and finance. The OCC was a good match.
How would you describe the OCC’s culture and workplace environment?
The OCC’s environment is very collegial. People are genuinely interested in doing their jobs well, taking pride in their work, and helping their colleagues succeed.
How does OCC support you in your career path?
Like all participants in the honors attorney program, I was assigned a formal mentor during each of my rotations. Also, many of my project managers became informal mentors.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Outside of work, I like getting outside and being active. I particularly enjoy hiking.
What would you tell someone just starting out at the OCC?
Take advantage of the wide range of opportunities available at the OCC. Be open to expanding your experience to grow and build your career.
