Education: Boston University, The College of the University Professor's Program, BA; Yale University, School of Management, MBA
Joined OCC: 2013

Discovering the Position

After graduating from the Yale School of Management and working in the private sector for many years, I had a strong desire to develop my career at a mission-oriented organization that would allow me to leverage my industry experience and finance and leadership skills.

Prior to joining the OCC, my background consisted of about 10 years of capital markets experience. From working in structured finance during the peak of the market, and then as an investor during the financial crisis, I had first-hand experience with the instruments and system-wide financial risks in the market.

Ultimately, my background and passion to serve the public brought me to the OCC.

Why I Chose the OCC

When I chose to work at the OCC, the people were important to my decision. I found the agency’s mission highly motivating. I continue to be impressed by the level of experience, dedication, and expertise at the OCC.

My Workday

The OCC has a strong team dynamic that makes it a rewarding and enjoyable place to work. My day-to-day work includes translating international banking standards into domestic policy, assisting supervision on capital policy issues, and responding to inquiries from industry. I frequently work with colleagues across the agency as well as at other financial regulatory agencies on policy issues. In addition, I represent the OCC on international Basel Committee sub-groups .

On Career Development

The OCC offers internal and external training opportunities, though most of my training has been on-the-job. It’s great to learn from other employees who have such a high level of expertise. There’s a tremendous knowledge base here at the agency.

Outside of Work

I’m a newlywed with two four-legged canine children. We live in Washington, D.C., and love to take advantage of the nearby Rock Creek Park. I also enjoy gardening and cooking what I manage to grow.
